Rideout Orthopedic Clinic
Whether from accidents, aging or active sports, a person’s bones and joints can take a beating. In fact, the entire musculoskeletal system — bones, joints, muscles, cartilage, nerves — can be affected by trauma, injury, infection, degenerative diseases, and congenital disorders.
At Rideout Orthopedics, our Board-certified doctors and specialists use both surgical and non-surgical procedures to treat these problems and more. The Clinic offers general orthopedics, sports medicine, elective joint replacement (such as knee, hip and shoulder) and joint preservation and arthroscopic surgery, advances in which mean many procedures can now be minimally-invasive, allowing for shorter recovery time. Arthritic joint, a torn meniscus, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, the crippling effects of arthritis are just a few of the conditions we treat; a complete list can be found under Services.
What’s in a Name? The name of this branch of medicine can be spelled Orthopedic or Orthopaedic (the older, Latin form still favored by American universities). The “ortho” stands for “straight,” and that is the Clinic’s goal: to help each patient stand straight, and walk, run, work and play, with the most ease and the least pain possible.
